Ninoca - Brand Identity

Ninoca is a baby and infant clothing e-commerce that needed a brand identity with a pleasing, fun aesthetic to set the stage in the digital context. The challenge of this project was to make sure that, while the visuals were fun and creative, they were still able to translate credibility and trust to its consumers, as noted in my client's briefing.

Logo Design

Right at the beginning of my design process for Ninoca, I knew that iconography was a major tool for children's related brands, and therefore I needed to make use of it on the logo for this brand's identity advantage. The smiling face illustration - which takes the place of the letter “O” in the logo – sets the tone for the fun patterns that would later support the efficiency level of brand recall. The non-linear positioned letters are also a great form to keep the logo's design fluid and nicely blended with the relaxed context that the illustration creates – all of that while the uppercase letters establish the mood for the essential trusting and professional brand that Ninoca is.

Alternative Logos

While the concept remains the same as the primary logo, its alternatives are a result of different color choices, text placement, as well as the addition of the word “bebê” (baby in Portuguese) on its side or bottom.

Color Palette

Working on an infant visual-related context can be quite tricky, but in this case, Ninoca's color palette was an important asset to make the brand's visuals sophisticated and professional. The choice of sober tones that are full of personalities when mixed together was a choice that made both me and my client fall in love with this brand's design ever more.

Pattern

Once an illustration piece is used on the logo, making a pattern becomes somewhat an easier and more fun job! The idea of using illustrated faces to communicate the brand's relaxed and child-related audience was something perceived as very interesting to my client, so I decided to go for it and make sure that a nice set of patterns translated that. And to not overuse the illustrations and the possibility of creating a polluted context, a pattern with the use of typography was another choice to sustain the brand's identity.

Social Media

As an e-commerce business, Ninoca's presence on a social media platform such as Instagram is crucial. Therefore, keeping the brand's visual identity easy and constant through that media is another important challenge of this project. All the visual resources developed for Ninoca are the solution to a brand's which first online impression aims to be credibility.

Packaging elements

The packaging is a major factor in making sure that the brand's identity is also maintained in person, and a great asset to create organic brand engagement.

Final Considerations

As a creative, it is really important for me to keep my motivation up. If the motivation is up, the ideas in my head flow beautifully. Working for my client on this project not only inspired me but actually reminded me how much I love my work! To have happy feedback from my clients really makes my day every time and this project did just that :)
