Social Media
#VMAs
The MTV Video Music Awards has always been an iconic night of celebration of pop culture. In its 2017 edition, I was responsible for ensuring that Papelpop's Twitter audience was tuned in and involved throughout the night with all the presentations, standout artists, and winners.
Most Engaging Tweets
More confident with my designs and even more aware of my audience's needs, it was during the 2017's MTV Music Video Awards when it became clear to me that my followers needed tweets that proved that the social media editor was experiencing the award show just like they were. They wanted to see gifs or memes that expressed what they were feeling during a specific moment — and that's when my work comes in: having to search it for them. That is the moment when my content, though momentary, bring forth engagement and relevance. They don't want to see videos of what they've just seen — unless it is something worth seeing twice, of course —, what they want is for you to elevate their experience and immersion on what's happening. So that's what I did…
The Winners
Tweeting the winners along with aesthetically pleasing designs with all the award's information was a way to keep Papelpop's online presence professional and informative, as well as fun and uncomplicated while commenting on the award show. The engagement numbers on the photo tweets prove that good visuals are a major form to achieve credibility and to stand out from the competition.
